London wakes up and smells the intranets

Intranet professionals were given the opportunity to ‘Wake up and smell the Intranets’ at the Intranet Benchmarking Forum’s (IBF) first ever London Breakfast meeting. With 20 intranet managers from companies such as Deloitte, British Airways, Boots, and Amnesty International attending, there was the opportunity to discuss intranets in an open yet confidential setting.

The meeting kicked off with a welcome from IBF CEO and Founder Paul Miller. Guests were then treated to a comprehensive and informative live tour of the IBF Member Aviva intranet by Tanya Williams, Aviva’s Collaboration and Knowledge Management Lead. Key themes the tour explored were cloud based intranets, document libraries, in-house governance of intranet forums, and multi-language intranets, a subject that will be looked at in more detail at the next IBF Member Meeting in Paris on May 19th 2010.

During the meeting the audience were also given a greater insight into IBF, in particular the IBF unique benchmarking model, research and the IBF community.

The next breakfast meeting will take place in San Francisco on May 12th 2010.
