Do we ask for personal information?
Yes, we do when you;
When you submit a contact, feedback or registration form we will ask you to supply your name, email address and contact details. We may also ask you to indicate the membership service(s) you are interested in finding out more information about. If you have access to the IBF member website many of these fields will be pre-populated for you.
The IBF require this information to process your information request quickly and efficiently. You will receive a confirmation email for all transactions completed online at the IBF members’ website including for example joining instructions for an IBF event and download instructions for an IBF product.
When you submit a registration and payment form, our e-commerce partner Barclays will request your name, contact details and personal details including for example your credit card number, credit card start and expiry date.
Barclays will use this information to obtain authorisation of the transaction from the issuer of your credit or debit card and the IBF's bank to process the payment. Barclays will make some of the transaction details available to the IBF for reporting purposes including for example your name, product purchased and date of purchase.
How do we store your information and is it safe?The IBF and Barclays are committed to protecting the security of your data and use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
The IBF store your information in the IBF members’ website, powered by Yourmembership.com. Access to information is controlled by user name and password combinations and the IBF web team have secure process in place to administer and maintain unique user credentials. IBF member’s website data is stored and backed up by Yourmembership.com who have process in place, to ensure data is kept fresh, fault tolerant and highly available.
The information submitted by the IBF to Barclays for payment processing is encrypted for transfer over the internet and held in a secure environment by Barclays. The IBF can not be held liable for the information stored and maintained by Barclays and you should refer to the
Barclaycard Business - Privacy Policy for further information.
The IBF will not keep your information for longer than is necessary and will take steps to ensure that it is kept up to date. What else should I know about my privacy? Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online - for example on message boards, through email, or in chat areas - that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
