Paul Miller
CEO & Founder
Paul is a technology and social entrepreneur. He founded the Intranet Benchmarking Forum in 2002 and has been at the heart of the “intranet revolution” for the last decade. IBF is world leader in Intranet benchmarking and best practice with more than 100 member organizations. IBF was described by Oracle as a “phenomenon in the intranet industry” due to its path of innovation and methodology.
He is the host of IBF Live, a monthly intranet media show and Executive Producer and host of IBF 24, featuring 24 hours of the world’s best intranets and thought provoking discussion on how work is being redesigned through technology. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, wrote the best-selling book “Mobilising the Power of What You Know” and latest book is “The Digital Workplace”. He is CEO and Founder of the Digital Workplace Forum.
After an early career as a Business Editor and speech writer, Paul published the influential WAVE magazine in 1990 and established The Empowerment Group in 1992, pioneering new approaches to communication within major organisations. In 1993 he co-founded the Ideas Cafe; a regular innovation event gathering shaped along social software lines, during the early days of the web. Paul was one of the leaders of the innovative “Fathers and Daughters Weekends”. He lives in London and has two daughters.
Helen Day
Group Managing Director
As Managing Director, Helen is responsible for member services, including: chairing UK based member meetings, business and team development and benchmarking strategy.
Helen previously worked for Boots, the chemists for 14 years setting up the organisations intranet and becoming Group Intranet Manager in the 1990′s. As Group Intranet Manager Helen researched user requirements rolled out a group-wide CMS and portal and implemented a site wide re-design.
Helen won the International Information Industry award for Best Intranet Project 2004 and was runner up European Information Professional of the year 2005. She is regularly invited to speak at conferences.
Angela Pohl
Managing Director
Angela has a Masters in Business Administration from London Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She has worked in various international marketing, project management and consulting roles for global companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis, Eli Lilly, and Avery Dennison. Prior to becoming IBF Managing Director, she handled membership services and the benchmarking program for IBF. Angela is based in Ohio, USA.
Nancy Goebel
IBF Regional Director North America
Prior to joining IBF, Nancy was the corporate sector e-Leader at JPMorgan Chase. Nancy has over 18 years of corporate office experience. Nancy led a successful an award-winning intranet team (recognised in the 2007 Nielsen Norman Group Design Annual). Nancy chaired a range the global community of intranet managers and delivered intranet sites and services to enhance workforce productivity.

As Global Director of IBF, Andy is responsible for leading IBF’s expansion and working with new members to maximize the return on their IBF investment.
Andy has spent the last 15 years helping Fortune 500 companies more effectively grow and manage their organizations by identifying business needs and orchestrating the appropriate technology and service solutions. He has served as a trusted advisor to both business and technology executives with documented results in the areas of improved process, communication and collaboration.
Matt Batchelor
Community Manager North America
As Community Manager, Matt is responsible for connecting with intranet managers across North America.
Matt is originally from the UK having moved to the United States in 2011. Back in the UK Matt was responsible for Internal Communications at ING Direct and Telefónica O2 – Europe’s largest telecommunications company. Matt has done many things over his professional career from data analyst to project manager to copywriter and has also worked with major companies such as Lloyds TSB and Orange. As well as being an established writer and blogger, Matt is an award winning photographer and part time fisherman.
Lucy Shaw
Community Manager Europe
As Community Manager, Lucy is responsible for connecting with intranet managers across Europe using a variety of social media tools such as LinkedIn and Twitter.
Lucy has 12+ years experience as a web/ intranet manager. Recently completing an intranet re-design project at Travis Perkins, Lucy was previously intranet manager at London Underground for 4 years and online services manager for the IBF for 5 years. Lucy has a background in marketing and communications, considerable experience in writing for the web and a practical working knowledge of user-centred design.
