The Intranet Benchmarking Forum (IBF) is one of the first companies globally to pilot a new Communities feature on the Yammer microblogging service. IBF has been using Yammer Communities to connect IBF members since September 2009.

Yammer Communities opens up the Yammer service to allow users to sign up without requiring email addresses that are associated with their company domain names, thus opening the door to B2B collaboration.

Interaction and collaboration are at the heart of IBF and Yammer Communities allows IBF members, such as Vodafone, Charles Schwab and Friends Provident to connect on a real-time basis in a confidential environment.

Paul Miller, Intranet Benchmarking Forum CEO and Founder commented:

"We suggested Communities to Yammer midway through 2009 and agreed to pilot the feature across the IBF membership. It has been hugely popular as a fast action community tool. We are now seeing members actively plugging Yammer into their intranets and wider range of workplace technologies.”

Yammer will also feature on IBF 24, the 24 hour workplace technology online broadcast on 2 and 3 June 2010. David Sacks, Yammer founder, will be sharing his thoughts on the increasing use of Yammer in the enterprise and developments in workplace technology.
